As National Signing Day draws closer, RaiderPower.com breaks down Texas Tech's 2016 commits by position group. Up next is the defensive line.

The backbone of Texas Tech's 2016 signing class is the defensive line group. This recruiting cycle will largely be judged on how this position performs over the next five seasons and on paper the Red Raiders are making quite the haul with seven defensive linemen.

Ivory Jackson out of Amarillo High is a Scout three-star prospect ranked as the No. 12 defensive tackle in Texas and No. 61 at his position in the country. Listed at 6-foot-3, 275 pounds, Jackson picked Tech over reported offers from Kansas, Kansas State, North Texas, SMU and Texas State.

Clarence Henderson out of Dallas Skyline is a Scout three-star prospect who played almost exclusively at offensive line in high school but was offered by Tech as a defensive end. Listed at 6-foot-1, 250 pounds, Henderson chose the Red Raiders over offers such as Arizona State, Cal, Houston, Kansas State, SMU, UCLA and Washington.

Noah Jones out of Southmoore High School in Oklahoma is a Scout three-star prospect ranked as the No. 1 defensive end n Oklahoma and No. 91 at his position in the nation. Listed at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, Jones picked Tech over reported offers from Army, Kansas, Kansas State, Navy, North Texas, Toldeo and Tulsa.

Nicholas McCann out of Texarkana Arkansas is a Scout three-star prospect ranked as the No. 2 defensive tackle in Arkansas and No. 70 at his position in the country. Listed at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, McCann chose the Red Raiders over offers from Baylor, Kansas, Louisiana-Monroe and Texas State.

Houston Miller out of Keller High is a Scout four-star prospect ranked as the No. 9 defensive end in Texas and No. 36 at his position in the nation. Listed at 6-foot-3, 240 pounds, Miller picked Tech over offers such as Air Force, Boston College, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Iowa and Minnesota.

Mychealon Thomas out of Butler Community College in Kansas by way of Dallas Skyline is a Scout three-star prospect ranked as the No. 97 overall junior college prospect in the country. Thomas is listed at 6-foot-3, 333 pounds.

Joe Wallace out of Dallas Skyline is a Scout three-star prospect ranked as the No. 9 defensive tackle in Texas and No. 45 at his position in the nation. Listed at 6-foot, 300 pounds, Wallace chose Tech over offers such as Air Force, Army, Colorado State, Iowa State, SMU, Tulsa and Washington.
