Texas Tech 2016 RB Commits

As National Signing Day draws closer, RaiderPower.com breaks down Texas Tech's 2016 commits by position group. Up next are the running backs.

Texas Tech has enjoyed one quality running back class after another recently and 2016 is no different as the Red Raiders are bringing in a pair of good ones.

Bryson Denley out of Cibolo-Steele is a Scout three-star prospect ranked as the No. 11 running back in Texas and No. 54 at his position in the nation. Listed at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds with a 40 time of 4.45 seconds, Denley told Raider Power he expects to play at both inside receiver and running back at Tech. He rushed for 989 yards, 17 touchdowns and caught 13 passes for 134 yards and a score last season. Denley picked Tech over offers such as Baylor, Illinois, Kansas and Oregon State.

Da'Leon Ward out of Dallas Skyline is a Scout three-star prospect ranked as the No. 10 running back in Texas and No. 50 at his position in the country. Listed at 5-foot-10, 180 pounds with a verified 40 time of 4.48 seconds, Ward rushed for 1,929 yards, 20 touchdowns and caught 22 passes for 257 yards and three scores last season. Ward, Tech's first commit of the 2016 class, chose Tech over reported offers from Air Force, Louisville, TCU and UNLV.
