Texas Tech hosted 6-foot-6 wing Braian Angola-Rodas of North Idaho College for an official visit over the weekend. The Columbia native averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists while shooting 52 percent from the field and 38 percent from beyond the arc this season.
Angola-Rodas was seen with Tubby Smith at the baseball game against Oklahoma on Saturday and commented that he really enjoyed the visit.
He would seemingly be a perfect fit to replace senior guards Toddrick Gotcher and Devaugntah Williams, plus would be a nice addition to the 2016 class which already boasts Florida point guard Keon Clergeot who signed back in November.
Several schools appear to be in the running for Angola-Rodas, including Hawaii, Oregon, Texas A&M and Washington.
The regular basketball signing period runs from Apr. 13-May 18 so stay tuned for the latest on Angola-Rodas’ recruitment.
