Big-Time WR Lists Tech No. 1.

Raider Power has scholarship offer news on a candidate for our next Texas Top 100. He's a wideout currently holding offers from both Baylor and Texas Tech. For more on this subject, please read on...

His name is L.A. Reed. And, at 6-3, 200 pounds, with a 4.5 forty, he's got the goods to develop into a big-time talent on the next level.

So is he sleeper?

Not exactly.

The pass-catching prep from Conroe Oak Ridge has simply been cruising under the radar, so to speak. The Red Raiders and Bears, of course, were probably hoping it would stay that way.

Expect Baylor and Texas Tech to see more competition in their quest to land the Oak Ridge stud, he's that impressive.

Having said that, does the kid sportin' a really cool name have a top five?

"I like Texas Tech, TCU, Iowa State, A&M, Kansas, Colorado and Baylor."

Leader at this point?

"Texas Tech," Reed said. "They pass the ball about 90 percent of the time and I really like that about their offense. A lot of balls to go around."

Camps attended: "I didn't get a chance to go to any."

That might explain his recent anonymity.

Don't expect Reed to make a decision in the near future. After all, he told RP, "I'm going to wait a little while...till the end of football season. Don't want to make a decision too soon."

Last, but certainly not least, Reed's in outstanding shape academically.
