Texas Tech basketball coach Chris Beard added another big piece to the roster with Brandone Francis' announcement Tuesday afternoon that he will transfer from Florida to Texas Tech.
The former Scout four-star prospect who was ranked as the No. 10 shooting guard and the No. 43 overall recruit of the 2014 class out of Jacksonville (Florida) Arlington Country Day averaged two points, one rebound and 0.5 assist in only 10.8 minutes per game last season for the Gators after redshirting in 2015.
After sitting out next season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, Francis (6-foot-5, 205 pounds) will have two years to play two seasons. His announcement follows what appeared to be a very good visit to Lubbock earlier this month.
He is the fourth addition to roster since Beard was hired in mid-April, joining junior college All-American Niem Stevenson, journeyman scorer Shadell Millinghaus and controversial yet talented big man Anthony Livingston.
