Texas Tech Lands Okie DB Kamren Curl

Muskogee (Okla.) athlete Kamren Curl announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Monday.


Muskogee (Okla.) athlete Kamren Curl announced his commitment to Texas Tech via Twitter on Monday.

Curl, 6-foot-2, 176 pounds, chose the Red Raiders over teams such as Houston, Illinois, Kansas, SMU and Washington State. 


The Muskogee standout is actually rated as a three-star receiver by Scout, but committed to the Red Raiders at safety. According to MaxPreps.com, Curl tallied 89 total tackles with two for loss, six pass defenses, three interceptions, five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery on defense, plus caught 57 passes for 659 yards and eight touchdowns on offense in 10 games last season.

Curl is Tech's fourth defensive back pledge in the 2017 recruiting cycle, joining Quincy AddisonAdam Beck and Adrian Frye. He is the Red Raiders' 12th overall pledge of the 2017 class.
