Texas Tech's 2017 Class: State of the Union

Raider Power takes a closer look at Texas Tech's 2017 recruiting class. How many recruits will Tech sign overall and at each position? Which prospects, including Cedar Hill linebacker Dimitri Moore (pictured above), are atop the coaching staff's board? Get the answers inside.

QB: 0-1. One committed. Think there's a slight possibility you go after a JUCO guy during the season if Mahomes is having the kind of year where he declares early, but aside from Trinity Valley QB Michael Curtis, no targets are really standing out.

RB: 0-1. None committed. You've got a spot for Tyree Range if his transcript checks out, but if that situation doesn't clear up, you're not taking a running back in 2017.

WR: 0-1. One committed. Think Cartrell Thomas is the primary target here and Texas Tech leads for him; just a question of when he pulls the trigger.

OL: 0. Six committed. You're done at offensive line this class.

DL: 1-2. None committed. Think you're really after Marqez Bimage and David Anenih here and would take both. If both pass, Toby Ndukwe is a possibility. Worth noting that Anenih just took a visit to Stillwater; the Pokes have offered.

LB: 2. None committed. You have spots for a high school OLB and a JUCO MLB. Dimitri Moore is the chief target on the outside and you're in his Top 7. I don't think you fill the Mike spot until late October or November after evaluating JUCO prospects during the season.

CB: 0. Three committed. With the commitment of John Davis, you're done at cornerback.

S: 0-1. Two committed. Ideally you'd take a guy like Devodrick Johnson here, but if that doesn't happen, the staff will take five DBs next class.
