Nose Tackle Has a Top Five

There's a nose tackle from Ennis, Texas the Red Raiders might be looking at as they hope to add several D-line bodies in this year's class.

Tommy Daniels, a 6-2, 310-pounder, has ideal size, strength and quickness off the ball for the position. He reportedly clocked a 4.9 forty and has demonstrated great strength, benching an eye-popping 225 pounds 26 times during his summer conditioning program.

That's pretty damn good...

As a junior, the district 16-4A lineman logged 54 tackles and 3 sacks.

He currently lists Maryland, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Baylor and Nebraska as his top five.

At this time, only Baylor has extended an offer. The remaining schools are waiting to see what happens during Daniels' senior season. According to the Ennis product, Maryland sends the most hand-written letters and are pursuing him more than anyone else.

So, does that put Baylor or Maryland in the lead?

Nope...Kansas State's getting the early nod.

Jason Williams: What is your interest level in Texas Tech?

Tommy Daniels: I have a high interest in Texas Tech, I like them a lot.

JW: Does Tech have a chance at getting one of your official visits?

TD: Yes, I plan on visiting all of the teams in my current top five.

Daniels is being recruited by Red Raider coach Dana Holgorsen. He plans on taking all five of his visits and making his decision after his last game of the season in December.
