Texas Tech picked up its second commitment from a standout defensive front seven recruit in less than a week with the announcement by Pflugerville Hendrickson defensive end Nelson Mbanasor.
Riko Jeffers, a 6-foot-1, 235-pound Scout three-star recruit rated as the No. 3 inside linebacker in Texas, committed to the Red Raiders on Friday.
Mbanasor, who originally committed to Oklahoma State, is a 6-3, 247-pound defensive end rated as a three-star recruit by Scout and the No. 7 prospect at his position in Texas. He chose Tech over more than 20 other offers from schools such as Air Force, Arkansas, Colorado, Duke, Houston, Illinois and Oklahoma State.
Mbanasor is the 6th defensive commit and 15th pledge overall of Texas Tech's 2017 class.
