Abilene running back Abram Smith remains committed to Tulsa but told RaiderPower.com Texas Tech "has a shot" after his official visit to Lubbock on Sunday.
The 6-foot, 195-pound running back, who rushed for 1,773 yards and 32 touchdowns on 215 carries (8.2 yards per carry) in 13 games as a senior this season, is rated as a three-star prospect and ranked as the no. 4 running back in Texas by Scout.
He's been committed to Tulsa since May, but picked up an offer from the Red Raiders in November and just took an official visit to Tech on Sunday.
The following is a Q&A with Smith conducted via direct messages on Twitter shortly after the visit:
Raider Power: How'd the visit to Tech go?
Smith: It went great. I like it up there and I definitely liked what I saw.
Raider Power: That's great. You visited Sunday, right? What was your favorite part?
Smith: Yes sir, favorite part had to be trying on the uniforms, and touring the facility.
Raider Power: What did you think of the facilities?
Smith: I thought they were great.
Raider Power: Which uni combo do you like the best? Mine is the black helmet & pants with the red jersey Tech wore this season against Baylor.
Smith: I was feeling the grey, I'm about to post a pic (posted below).
Raider Power: Yeah, I like the greys, too. Which player hosted you on the visit?
Smith: I didn't have a host since I only went one day.
Raider Power: How'd it go with the coaches and what'd they say about how you could fit into the offense?
Smith: They told me I'm the type of player that can play from the go.
Raider Power: Where do you stand with Tulsa? Does Tech have a shot after the visit?
Smith: I stand with Tulsa, Tech does have shot after the visit.
Raider Power: What do you like most about Tulsa? And then Tech?
Smith: Well, Tulsa has been there with me for a while, and Tech just came on because coach (Deshaun) Foster had joined and started recruiting me.
Raider Power: Is anybody else in the mix or is it those two right now?
Smith: Nobody else just them.
Raider Power: Makes sense. How's your relationship with Foster? What do you think of him?
Smith: I like coach Foster and their staff. I'm thankful that they jumped on board.
Raider Power: Do you know when you want to decide between the two schools?
Smith: I don't know when I'll make my decision.
Raider Power: One last question: where'd you eat Sunday and how much? Those meals during OV's are usually epic.
Smith: Walk-Ons and I don't know (how much), a lot of food.
