Texas Tech extended yet another defensive line offer this weekend as 6-foot-1, 290-pound defensive tackle Jordan Redmond of Osceola, Florida picked up his offer from the Red Raider coaching staff.
"Coach Jamison was the one who offered me over there. I would say that's the offer where I have the greatest relationship with a coach because coach Jamison, he's been recruiting me since my freshman year when he was at FAU. I would say he's probably my favorite coach. It was awesome to have that offer. To have a school like Texas Tech and a coach like him, it's an awesome mix."
Redmond discussed how the offer happened and what his next steps are.
"He had told me he was going to offer me soon, about a week ago, so he hit me up today and offered me through text. He was telling me how he wanted me up there. First he offered me and then he asked me when I can get up there, and I told him April 13th. He's excited to get me out there."
Texas Tech will have to vie with many schools, including some East Coast powers, for Redmond's services.
"I have 22 offers and my other offers are from Rutgers, Indiana, Syracuse, NC State, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and a couple others. I'm hearing from a lot of schools."
Does Redmond have any other visits set up at this time?
"April 15th, the University of Texas spring game."
The defensive tackle discussed what he's looking for in a school.
"I'm just looking for a place where I can really fit in, a great atmosphere that I can spend four years at. Also, an honest coaching staff that cares about their players."
Redmond discussed his timeline for making a decision.
"I would probably say end of season, maybe, or a little bit after that."
