JUCO DE/RE Wants to Visit Tech

Raider Power catches up with another N.W. Mississippi defensive stallion to talk stats and assess Mike Leach and Co.'s chances of landing his services in Lubbock.

Chris Turner, 6-3, 275 pounds, had 5 tackles and 4 pressures in his game against Antelope Valley.

Last season, as a frosh, he totaled 58 tackles, 13 TFLs, 9 sacks, 27 pressures, 9 tipped passes, 2 FFs and 1 FR.

Scholarship offers?

"I've got offers from a few dozen," Turner told RP.

Unfortunately, Turner was tight-lipped about which schools extended the 'ships. And he also kept quiet about who his favorites presently are.

"I'm still pretty wide-open," Turner said. "And, I plan on taking all five official visits before making a decision."

Essentially, he'll be looking at which schools show him the most love when it comes to who grabs the all-important right to host Turner for a weekend...

One school showing mad love and already marked down for a visit are the Red Raiders.

"I'm going to Lubbock (October 10-12) to see the Texas Tech-Iowa State game."

FSU, the school he signed with when in high school, may also garner a visit from the defensive standout. However, it has yet be scheduled.

Thoughts on Tech?

The thing I like the most is they're just really up front about everything," Turner said.

Dean: With other teammates interested in Tech, does Leach and gang's shot get better if they land one or two of your teammates?

Turner: Yes, sir. It would.
