Current Commit Update: L.A. Reed

I spoke with Red Raider commit L.A. Reed about his season, if he's set a date for his visit to the Hub City and more...

The 6-3, 200-pound wide receiver has enjoyed a good season so far; leading his team to a 6-2 record while posting 29 receptions for just under 300 yards and 8 touchdowns.

According to Reed, in addition to Texas Tech, he has received interest from Baylor and most recently Missouri.

"I still really like Texas Tech, they were the first to offer me," said the Conroe Oak Ridge prep. "I haven't been out there for my visit yet but I'll probably go towards the end of November."

If the Texas Hot 100 candidate wants to attend a Red Raider game, you would have to guess that he will be visiting Tech for their match-up with Oklahoma.

The physical pass-catcher said he really likes Mike Leach's O and looks forward to being in an offense that puts the ball in the air so frequently.

According to Reed, Tech's sub-par performance against Missouri will not affect his decision.

"They just had a bad game. Every team has bad games."

When asked if the commitments at quarterback (Graham Harrell and Robert Johnson) helped him in his decision, the answer was definite.

"I wasn't aware that those guys had committed but yeah, it makes a big difference," said Reed. "You always want a good QB getting you the ball."

We'll keep you posted on his official visit and any breaking news!
