"I have decided to give my verbal to Texas Tech," said Aleman. "I just really like the way they go about recruiting, the process."
According to Aleman, the Red Raiders have been persistent in calling him and recently made an in-home visit. Now its Josh's turn to visit the Red Raiders.
"I'll be headed up to Lubbock this weekend (December 12-14) for my visit," said Aleman.
He also said that he likes the offense Tech runs and that he is familiar with it because Sherman patterned much of their offense after Mike Leach's O. So it appears Texas Tech O-line General Robert Anae found him a center prospect that is already well-versed in the scheme he employs. That's good news for both Aleman and Anae.
To date, the 6-3, 285-pounder has offers from Missouri, Tulsa, Louisiana Tech, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Iowa, Iowa State and Syracuse, so there was definitely some comp for his services. In the end, becoming a Red Raider was what he chose to do.
We'll do a follow up story on Aleman to find out how his visit to the Hub City went in about a week.
