Pacific didn't fare much better in the second half. The Lady Raiders started the half with an 8-0 run to extend the lead to 64-18 with 16:31 left in the game. Texas Tech took advantage of another 8-0 run midway through the second half to make the score 80-27 with 8 minutes left in the game. Texas Tech continued to extend their lead as the game ended, winning by a final score of 100-39.
This was easily the most impressive offensive performance of the season for the Lady Raiders. Texas Tech shot 39 of 75 (52%) from the field, and scored 100 points with just 7 turnovers. Erin Grant had a fabulous game with a season high 13 assists. Grant's assists were just part of a season high 30 assists for the team. Jia Perkins and Chesley Dabbs both scored 18 points to lead the team. Natalie Ritchie and Alesha Robertson scored 11 points, while Cisti Greenwalt and Jametra Clark scored 10 points. This game was exactly what Coach Sharp is looking for from her offense. It will be interesting to see how the Lady Raiders fare against tougher opponents.
Tonight's game was another in a string of brilliant defensive performances from the Lady Raiders. Texas Tech forced 24 turnovers and held the Tigers to 25.9% from the field. The post players did an excellent job against Pacific's tall inside players. This team continues to apply more pressure every game, which is forcing opponents into numerous mistakes. Big Twelve opponents will have to find a way to deal with the amount of quickness that this team puts on the court every game.
