"I just had a great time on my official visit...really enjoyed it," he said. "Everything about it. Hanging out with the players was probably the highlight of my trip. My host was RS-JR Chris Spencer."
As for his decision time-frame, the 6-2, 312-pounder said, "I'll make an official announcement at our high school banquet Tuesday at 4:00 p.m."
And the winner is...
"It'll be Ole Miss," said the Evangel OL. "Basically, the history they have in putting linemen into the NFL, the whole atmosphere there, it being not that far from home and early playing time is why it'll be Ole Miss."
"Coach Woods" was the primary recruiter for the Rebels and Henderson said, "He never really pressured me to make a commitment to them and gave me all of the time I needed to make a decision. But I just felt like this was the place I wanted to be at."
According to Henderson, he'll get the opportunity to play (offensive guard) early. And, that was a big selling point to him. But he's not against redshirting if it's for the best.
"I'm going to go out there and see how I adapt to my resources," he said. "If I feel like I can a make an impact as a true freshman, then I want to play. If I feel like I need to redshirt, then that's what I'll do."
Note: Henderson will join Evangel teammate Chris Bowers and said, "We've been playing together for the last 5-6 years and it was a lot of fun. It'll be neat to play with him again for the next 4-5 years."
