Eric Morris In The Red Raider Fold

Shallowater multi-athlete Eric Morris took his official visit this weekend to Texas Tech and landed an official offer from Mike Leach, the head man himself.

"I knew last night they were going to offer me a scholarship," Morris said. "But today, I guess it was official. I was in Coach Leach's office and he said they were going to be able to offer me a scholarship, thanked me for staying patient with them and that it all worked out in the end."

The 5-9, 165-pound Wes Welker-type jumped on it and never looked back.

"It's a great fit for me, stadium's only 10 minutes from my house, the coaching staff is great, real personable and care about me as a player and as a student. I had a great trip, they have wonderful facilities, just the place I wanted to be."

The Red Raiders landed 4-2A's Offensive MVP, 1st-team all-distrcit secondary, 1st-team all-district punter, All-South Plains (including 1A, 2A,3A, 4A, 5A) Player of the Year, and 2A Player of the Year...

Morris threw for 2000 yards (22 TDs), ran for 1000 yards (24 TDs), had a totally sick kick/punt return average of 33.7 yards, taking 5 KO's back for scores and 3 punts for TDs.
