Texas Tech falls to Kansas, 96-77

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (17-5, 5-3) couldn't figure out a way to beat the Kansas Jayhawks (15-4, 7-1) in Lawrence, but neither has any other team in the Big Twelve over the past two years. Wayne Simien led Kansas with 22 points, but the key was Aaron Miles' 9 assists. Andre Emmett led all scorers with 29 points.

Kansas Started the game strong by scoring the first 5 points to take a 5-0 lead early in the game. Another 5-0 run by the Jayhawks stretched the lead to 10-2 with 17:30 left in the half. Texas Tech used a 5-0 run to fight their way back into the game, making the score 36-29 with 5:40 to go in the half. Kansas answered with a 6-0 run of their own to make the score 42-29 with 3:35 left in the half. Texas Tech fought back to make the score 44-36 at the half.

The Red Raiders kept the score close until a 7-0 run extended the Kansas lead to 58-44 with 17:24 left in the game. A 10-0 run stretched the Jayhawk lead to 74-54 with 8:40 to go in the game. Kansas put the game away with a late 6-0 run to make the score 94-67 with just 2:24 left in the game. Kansas won by a final score of 96-77
