Greenwalt out for season with fractured ankle

Today brings more bad news for Lady Raider fans. Head Coach Marsha Sharp announced today that junior center Cisti Greenwalt fractured her right ankle against Missouri, and will be unavailable for the remainder of the season.

This latest news comes just over a month after the departure of senior guard Jia Perkins from the team for undisclosed medical reasons. "This is just another blow to our team," said Coach sharp. I feel bad for our players and our fans to have to endure this adversity. I have confidence that our team will respond as they have all season long."

The junior from Clovis, New Mexico had started eight games this season, and had played in all twenty-six of the Lady Raiders' games this season. Cisti Greenwalt was averaging 7.9 points and 5.7 rebounds a game, while leading the team in blocks with 57. Greenwalt is the current record holder for career blocks at Texas Tech, with 195 in her three seasons as a Lady Raider.
