Red Raiders roll past Aggies

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (19-7, 7-5) took another step towards a first round bye in the Big Twelve tournament with a 76-60 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies (7-16, 0-12). Andre Emmett 18 points to become the Big Twelve's all-time leading scorer, and moved into second place on the Texas Tech career scoring list.

Texas Tech got off to a good start despite the benching of the starters, using a 5-0 run to make the score 12-5 with 16:26 left in the first half. The good play continued with the Red Raiders scoring 8 unanswered points to extend their lead to 20-8 with 11:43 to go in the half. Once the starters came back in, Texas Tech continued to pull away. A 5-0 run made the score 27-12 with 7:54 left in the half. Texas Tech led by a score of 38-24 at the half.

The Red Raiders continued to pull away in the second half, using a 5-0 run to extend their lead to 50-29 with 15:09 left in the game. Texas A&M answered with a 5-0 run to make the score 50-34 with 14:21 to go in the game. The Aggies pulled to within 10 points before a 5-0 Texas Tech run made the score 65-50 with 3:35 left in the game. Texas Tech scored 6 of the final 7 points to win by a score of 76-60.
