Texas Tech falls to Huskers, 72-44

Andre Emmett may have become Texas Tech's all-time leading scorer, but it wasn't enough for the Texas Tech Red Raiders (19-8, 7-6) to defeat the Nebraska Cornhuskers (15-9, 5-8). Andre Emmett scored 9 points to become the red Raiders career scoring leader. Nebraska's Nate Johnson led all scorers with 17 points.

The game started off with both teams scrambling to gain an advantage. Nebraska scored 5 straight points to take a 16-12 lead with 11:18 left in the first half, a lead that Nebraska would never relinquish. Nebraska continued to build their lead with an 8-0 run to make the score 28-18 with 4:40 to go in the half. Nebraska led 34-26 at the half.

Nebraska took advantage of poor shooting by Texas Tech to take control of the game early in the second half. A 7-0 run extended the Cornhusker lead to 44-30 with 17:28 left in the game. A 10-0 Nebraska run made the score 54-34 with 12:04 to go in the game. Nebraska was able to build on their lead until the final buzzer, winning by a final score of 72-44.
