Red Raiders win number twenty

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (20-9, 8-7) made a nice addition to their tournament resume by defeating the Missouri Tigers (15-11, 9-6). The victory gives Texas Tech their twentieth win of the season, and guarantees at least a .500 record in conference play.

Missouri got off to a quick start, scoring 6 straight points to take a 10-4 lead with 14:49 left in the first half. Texas Tech stayed in the game with a 5-0 run to make the score 19-18 with 8:48 to go in the half. An 8-0 run gave the Red Raiders a 26-21 lead with 7:10 left in the half. The Tigers used a 6-0 run to take a 42-36 lead with just 1:13 remaining in the half. Missouri led by a score of 44-41 at the half.

Texas Tech retook the lead with a 5-0 run that gave the Red Raiders a 50-46 lead with 16:29 left in the game. Texas Tech used an 8-0 lead to extend their lead to 60-50 with 13:41 to go in the game. The Red Raiders continued to extend their lead, scoring 6 straight points to make the score 72-56 with 10:37 left in the half. Missouri stayed within striking distance with an 8-0 run that made the score 72-64 with 7:02 remaining in the game. Texas Tech held of the Missouri comeback attempt to win by a final score of 87-76.
