Red Raiders fall to OSU

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (22-10) fell short of the Big Twelve tournament finals, losing to the Oklahoma State Cowboys (26-3) in the semifinals. Andre Emmett led all scorers with 26 points in the losing effort.

Texas Tech got off to a good start, scoring the first 7 points of the game to take a 7-0 lead with 18:07 left in the first half. Oklahoma State wasn't ready to go quietly though. The Cowboys scored 5 straight points to tie the game at 18 with 10:26 to go in the half. After some back and forth action Oklahoma State used an 8-0 run to take a 35-28 lead with 1:38 left in the half. Oklahoma State scored the final 6 points of the half to take a 41-29 halftime lead.

Oklahoma State extended its lead in the second half, scoring 5 unanswered points to make the score 48-33 with 17:18 left in the game. Texas Tech kept things close with a 9-0 run to make the score 52-46 with 13:31 to go in the game. The Cowboys answered with a 5-0 run to make the score 57-46 with 12:34 left in the game. The Red raiders fought back with a 6-0 run of their own to close the gap to 57-52 with 10:10 to go in the game. Oklahoma State kept the Red Raiders at bay with a 5-0 run to extend the Cowboys' lead to 62-52 with 9:12 left in the game. Texas Tech refused to go down, scoring 5 straight points to make the score 62-57 with just 5:39 to go in the game. Oklahoma State put the game out of reach with a 6-0 run to make the score 74-61 with 1:54 left in the game. the Cowboys went on to win the game by a score of 82-77.
