Zach Schreiber High On Red Raiders

Shreveport Evangel high school sends plenty of D-I prospects to colleges across the country. Texas Tech, who currently has a few Evangel alums, is presently in the hunt for another one...

We caught up with Evangel DE prospect Zach Schreiber to get a few details about his visit to Lubbock this past weekend and his recruitment to date.

"Texas Tech has a beautiful campus," Schreiber said. "They have brand new facilities, brand new weight room and the city was a lot bigger than I thought. People were saying Lubbock wasn't that big, but it looked like it was as big as Shreveport, so I was surprised. It's actually a pretty big city."

Asked about his interest in Texas, since his father played there, Schreiber said, "Yeah, I'm looking at them, but they're not recruiting me as hard as Texas Tech (offer), Ole Miss and LSU, so..."

Kid's also looking at "Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and UCLA."

Ole Miss recruiting him probably comes to no surprise considering Texas Tech battled with the Rebels on two Evangel recruits just this last year...

"They've (Chris Bowers and Tim Henderson) been working me pretty good, trying to sell me on Ole Miss," Schreiber said.

Of course, the Scarlet and Black counter with Thomas Bachman, Keyunta Dawson and Chad Johnson.

"I think I'd rather go to a school that has some people I already know."

That certainly bodes well for the three school recruiting him the hardest: LSU, Ole Miss and Texas Tech.
