Areas To Improve: Needs to add bulk to compete at the collegiate level. Needs to work on lower body strength, doesn't really have the power to move the pile. Is only a marginal pass-blocker. While showing that he does know his assignments, doesn't always make the play, so needs to make some strides in pass protection and blitz pick-up.
Bottom Line: Purvey is a savvy runner who reminds me a litte bit of Oklahoma State's Tatum Bell. He needs to add weight and lower body strength. Has more of a wide receiver body right now, but definitely has the skills/size to play tailback. Could find immediate playing time on special teams, also helping his recruitability.
