Junior Report:LaShawn Vation

Irving McArthur corner <b>LaShawn Vation</B> (5-10.5 185) had a huge year as a junior, earning defensive player of the year, 1st team all-district and 2nd team all-state. His play did not go unnoticed by big time programs.

"I have offers from Texas Tech, Washington State, UCONN, Maryland, Tulsa, New Mexico State, TCU, Houston and Oklahoma State," said Vation.

According to Vation, the Red Raiders and Tulsa are the schools who call the most frequently.

"I plan on heading out to Texas Tech to find out more about their program in a couple of weeks," said Vation. "Coach Mainord is recruiting me as a DB and kick returner."

Vation mentioned that he had already visited the campus of TCU and was impressed by what he saw.

"I went out there for there junior day and liked what I saw," said Vation. "The coaching staff there will work you really hard."

We'll try to catch up with Vation after he returns from his visit to Lubbock.
