Junior Report:David Nelson

Wichita Falls Rider WR David Nelson (6-5 195, 4.5) is a dual threat. Nelson has the height and size to physically punish smaller DB's and he has the speed and vision to run by them as well. Having 14 offers and constant recruiting attention hasn't gone to his head however.

"I never would have believed a few months ago that I would have 14 offers now," said Nelson. "It's a blessing and a dream come true."

David has offers from Notre Dame, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, SMU, Houston, Wisconsin, Duke, Kansas, Purdue, Colorado, Texas A&M, Nebraska, and Pittsburg.

Nelson said he has already been to the campuses of K-State, Oklahoma State, and Nebraska. His thoughts?

"Oklahoma State has a good program and good leadership," said Nelson. "I really like Coach Miles and the direction he's taking that program."

"At Kansas State, they have a great receivers coach and a terrific winning tradition in the Big XII," said Nelson.

"Coach Callahan at Nebraska knows what it takes to get to the next level and they're putting a lot of effort in to revamping their facilities," said Nelson

Nelson mentioned that it was too early in the recruiting process to name leaders. He also said he would be heading to South Bend on June 22 to check out the Irish.

"I really like the way Notre Dame is going about recruiting me and I am very interested in see their campus," said Nelson.

Davis also mentioned that he recently received an offer from the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

"Obviously as a receiver you have to like that Tech throws the ball on nearly ever single play," said Nelson. "We seem to have a lot of Red Raider fans here and our outside linebacker coach, Jonathan Hawkins, played for Tech so he's pushing them as well."

Nelson said that he hoped to find out more about Texas Tech soon.
