Texas Tech Lands Another Commitment

Texas Tech grabs another commitment for the 2005 class when Keller safety/linebacker <b>Jordan Thomas</b> called Red Raider safeties coach <b>Carlos Mainord</b> this weekend to commit.

"Ahh man, I went up there for their camp last Sunday and I just really like the coaches," Jordan Thomas said regarding his decision to pick the Red Raiders. "They seem like they're player coaches and their football team is really good."

Thomas, a 6-0, 207-pounder who a clocked a blistering 4.55 forty time at the Texas Tech camp, projects as a safety or as an outside linebacker.

"Last year, I played outside linebacker, but this year, I'm moving to a rover/strong-side safety position."

Keller employs more of a 3-4 look on D.

Kid's stats last year at LB?

"I had 89 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery."

And Thomas also runs a little track, competing in the individual 200 meters, long jump and triple jump.

His best marks are 22.8 seconds in the 200, just over 21' in the long jump and 40'6" in the triple jump.

The Keller standout said he wanted Red Raider fans to know that "he's glad he's going to a school with a great home atmosphere/crowd". And that he's looking forward to "stepping up that defense."
