Junior Report: Gremon Coffman

Duncanville Safety Gremon Coffman (6-2 190) has a busy summer ahead of him. He has 11 offers already and plans on visiting most of the in-state campuses this summer. Are the Red Raiders on his list of destinations?

"I plan on heading to Texas Tech, Oklahoma, OSU, Texas A&M and Houston this summer to take unofficial visits," said Coffman. "A lot of my old teammates, now playing D1 football, have advised me to go on a lot of unofficial visits to find out what schools are really like."

Coffman mentioned that he has been to the campus of Texas Tech once already, during a track meet.

"Coach Mainord and Coach Simmons showed me around the campus and gave me a tour of the facilities," said Coffman. "I really liked the facilities; they're all top of the line."

Coffman mentioned that the most attractive thing about the Red Raiders is the early playing time they can offer.

"My decision is going to largely based on the amount of playing time I can receive early," said Coffman.

Oklahoma State clearly has a Duncanville connection.

"OSU has six Duncanville players that all get playing time," said Coffman. "I like the fact that I am familiar with a lot of the guys up there."

Thoughts on OU?

"I grew as a fan of Oklahoma and I really like the tradition they have," said Gremon. "I also like the way that they go about recruiting me, not just telling me what I want to hear."

Coffman posted 66 tackles and 2 interceptions in route to a first team all-district performance last year. He has also been nominated to participate in the US Army All-American game. Additionally, Gremon has speed in his bloodlines. His father, Greg, ran track at Kansas.
