"I'm really excited and can't wait to get up there," said Vation. "It's a relief to get the recruiting process out of the way."
What was it specifically about the Red Raiders that made Vation's decision an easy one?
"Coach Dennis Simmons sat down with me and really detailed what my career would be like at Tech if I were to commit to them," said Vation. "The main reason I decided to commit to them is because I feel like I can help them out early on defense and that they will help me significantly in the long run."
Vation like so many other recruits recently, was very impressed by both the campus and the football facilities.
"We toured the campus and the stadium and the stadium was huge," said Vation. "As far as the campus is concerned, I was shocked. It's so nice and to have access to all of that is such an honor."
"I'm definitely going top try and recruit those guys," said Vation. "I've already spoken to Brent and he was very excited for me."
Does LaShawn have anything to say to the Red Raider fans?
"I feel like a king being offered so much by Tech," said Vation. "I look forward to leading them to a Big 12 championship."
Vation chose Texas Tech over, Connecticut, Maryland, Oklahoma State, TCU, New Mexico State, Houston, Washington State and Mississippi State.
