"I'm mainly keeping my options open, but if I had to say today, I would say I'm leaning toward Nebraska, Texas Tech and UTEP."
Thoughts on the Huskers?
"When you think about football, you think about Nebraska," Britton said. "Coach (Bill) Callahan sends me a lot of personal letters and he seems like a pretty good person. And, with him coming down from the NFL level to college, and then evaluating me, to think that I have something he might want is flattering. (Nebraska OLB) Coach (Bill) Busch is also recruiting me. I get 2-3 hand-written letters everyday. I called about their engineering program and it was fed-ex next day."
"They're close to home, have the highest scoring offense in college, the campus is beautiful. Coach Dave Brown is recruiting me. Texas Tech has been very frequent in talking to me, really nice, not overly badgering."
The UTEP Miners?
"They're right down the street and I've been following UTEP for most of my life. They have a really good engineering program, one of the best, and Coach (Mike) Price is recruiting me. They have some new guys down there. It's more about how they perform this year. If their win-loss record improves, I might look at them even more."
Regarding official visits, Britton said he and his father may only take a couple. He said he's already seen Texas Tech and UTEP, so he may not officially visit those two programs...
"UTEP is right around the corner and if I think I can see another element at Texas Tech, then I might give them an official visit, but I've been there and we have only so much money to take these trips."
He has not been to Lincoln...
"Me and my father are definitely going to officially visit Nebraska."
As for any additional official visits, Britton said, "Possibly Texas Tech, Baylor, BYU or maybe someone else who jumps in later, but it will depend on finances."
