Houston Worthing RB Deon Wallace Fills Us In

In order to play running back for Texas Tech, one must not only be able to run like the wind, but also catch passes out of the backfield and counted on to protect the quarterback. Houston Worthing tailback Deon Wallace, who has an offer from Mike Leach and Co., meets the above criteria.

"Right now, I have offers from Texas Tech, Kansas State, Baylor, Louisiana Lafayette and I think that's it," said the 5-7.5, 175-pound Deon Wallace.

With a commitment already from Abilene RB Kobey Lewis, the Red Raiders are in good hands. But TTU running backs coach Bill Bedenbaugh could use some depth and Wallace fits the Scarlet and Black like a glove.

Dean: Thoughts on the Red Raiders?

Wallace: I want to learn more about them. I need to take an official visit there.

Dean: K-State?

Wallace: I like that they have a running back abut my height and my size and he's doing real good there.

Dean: Colorado...

Wallace: They've been a powerhouse team. I like their program and think I'd fit in there.
