Texas DL Talks Official Visits & Faves

Carrollton Newman Smith DE/DT Jonathan Lewis is a prospect to keep an eye on no doubt. He has offers from schools such as Kansas State, Miami, Texas A&M and Texas Tech, to name a few. Scout.com caught up with the 6-2.5, 250-pounder to get the latest...

"I have a top two right now," Jonathan Lewis said. "Kansas State and Miami."

Thoughts on the Wildcats?

"I like how their defense plays. I like the way they play their DTs. They don't use them just as run "stuffers". They move them around a lot. And, they were one of the first teams to offer me so that means they've been interested in me for a while."

Thoughts on the Canes?

"They offered me during the spring. They were one of the first schools to offer and I've always liked Miami. They have a reputation for winning and they send a lot of people to the NFL Draft."

Official/Unofficial Visit Agenda: "I'm going to take an official visit to K-State the 10th of December. That's the only one I have set up so far. I'm taking an unofficial visit this weekend, but I don't know for sure if it's going to be to the Arkansas-Georgia game or if it'll be to the Texas Tech-Texas game. If I can get a ride to Arkansas, then I'll go there. If not, I'll drive to Lubbock. I'm definitely going to take an official visit to Miami, I just haven't scheduled it yet. The other teams who will probably get official visits are Texas A&M, Arkansas and Alabama."
