McKinner Dixon Ends The Suspense

Lufkin DE/DT prospect McKinner Dixon tripped to Lubbock, Texas this past weekend and decided to end the suspense. We caught up with him to get the details...

"It was just the atmosphere," said McKinner Dixon regarding why he opted for the Scarlet and Black. "It felt like home. I knew that that was where I wanted to go."

Dixon, whose host was Antonio Huffman, said he mixed well with all the players and coaches. But it was TTU RB coach Bill Bedenbaugh who was the primary recruiter and deserves a lot of credit for landing the Texas Hot 100 No. 14th-ranked prospect (overall), a 4-star recruit.

"Coach Bedenbaugh was real excited and he started telling all of the coaches that I committed."

And plenty of credit also goes to the Red Raider fans...

"Some fans had my name spelled on their chests and I thought that was real cool. The atmosphere is great and the player and coaches are just real cool too."

On meeting with Head Coach Mike Leach, Dixon said, "He's just crazy. He was showing me card tricks and stuff. He's the kind of coach I want to play for. He said when I committed that it really helps them out.

Will he take any other official visits?

"To tell you the truth, I don't think I need to. I think I found the perfect school for me."
