El Paso RB Edward Britton Joins Red Raiders

El Paso Montwood RB Edward Britton pulled the commitment trigger in favor of the Texas Tech Red Raiders over the hometown UTEP Miners and early favorite Nebraska Huskers. He talks about the reasons that led to his decision to choose the Scarlet and Black...

"It was a multitude of reasons," said Edward Britton regarding why he committed to Texas Tech. "The facilities, academics, fans, the coaching staff, players, facilities -- just the overall feeling I got on campus and in the stadium."

Coaches responsible for landing the 6-0,170-pounder?

"Coach Dave Brown. He was the primary recruiter. We got along real well. I think he played in the League," Britton said. "Coach (Dennis) Simmons also. He drove me around on my official visit and I had a great time driving around with him. And, then I talked to Mr. (Mike) Leach for a couple of hours. So I would say those three coaches deserve the credit."

The senior from El Paso said he's pretty firm and doesn't see himself taking any additional official visit.

"I think I'm done for now," Britton said, "I made my choice. There wasn't really any pressure to commit and I wasn't stressed when I was took my official visit there -- just a very comfortable atmosphere. I know where my future's going to be."

The Red Raiders landed a tailback -- who has rushed for 1,800 yards and 23 TDs thus far – during a senior campaign that isn't finished yet. With another game to go before the playoffs get under way, Britton should easily crack the 2,000-yard milestone.

"Tell the Texas Tech fans to keep up their support for me and that good things are to come."
