James Pierce Schedules an Official Visit

Longview CB </b>James Pierce</b> had a pretty decent showing in the playoff game last week when he made 10 tackles and almost recorded an INT before a ref ruled otherwise. On the recruting frint, kid just set up an official visit. We talk about that and more...<P>

Texas Hot 100 No. 98 James Pierce took his first SAT test November 6th and is now allowed (per NCAA rules) to take official visits. Waiting on that only, the 6-0, 185-pound CB made reservations to be in Lubbock (11/26) for the Oklahoma State game.

"Texas Tech had been my leader for a while and I just want to see how it is there," Pierce on setting up an official visit to Lubbock said. "And we'll see what happens after that."

If you've been following Pierce the last few months, it's no secret that Texas Tech has a place in his heart. With teammate and good friend Corderra Hunter also looking at the Scarlet and Black, not to mention out in front for Hunter as well, both could soon add their names to the '05 Red Raider Recruiting fold.

HS Playoff Notes/Comments: "We beat North Garland 46-27," Pierce said. "We scored our 46 points in the first half. Man, I had a real nice game. With assists, I probably had close to 15 tackles. Nahh, I'm not going to give myself that many. I know I had 9 and some assists though. I also caught a pick, but the ref said I was out. Man, I wasn't out. I was in. They were mostly just a running team. They didn't pass very much."

Pierce is one cool cat who we will be staying in touch with...
