KY QB Chris Todd Fills Us In

Elizabethtown, Kentucky QB Chris Todd catches us up with regard to where he stands in the recruiting process today. We go over a few things in this particular update as we draw closer to his decision...

"All of the top schools are doing in-home visits this week," Chris Todd told Scout.com. "So, I'll be speaking with coaches from N.C. State, Texas Tech and Memphis."

Asked how key those in-home visits will be toward making a decision, the 6-3, 190-pounder (with 4.8 speed) said, "It will definitely be a big part in making my decision. If my parents and I have any questions then that'll be the time to ask. So, it's definitely going to be a big help in deciding where I'm going to go."

Given the fact that we recently opined in the RP Club that we see Todd choosing the Wolfpack over the Red Raiders, Todd did state for the record in this interview that his mindset with regard to the in-home visits would be going into those with an open mind.

"And, I'm going to examine the pros and cons of each school before making my decision."

With regard to taking additional official visits, he also added, "Depending on what happens this week, I may not take any additional official visits."

If N.C. State or the Texas Tech coaches push for a commitment this week, what will the gunslinger (who passed for 3,200 yards and tossed 38 TDs against 6-7 INTs this season) do?

"I've already spoken to the coaches about that and they know that I'm going to be making a decision soon," he said.

Regarding playing time and depth charts, Todd takes an outlook you don't see to often when he said, "Well, there's going to be competition anywhere you go. So depending on how I do things, how I show up, will determine when I get onto the field."

Having that kind of personal accountability and responsibility with regard to playing time is not seen too often. Naturally, Red Raider and Wolfpack fans would love to see Todd in their respective programs competing for the starting nod at QB...
