Pete Richardson Adds His Name to 2005 Class

Muskogee RB Pete Richardson took an official visit to Texas Tech this weekend and decided to switch his commitment from Texas A&M to Texas Tech.

"I told the A&M coaches I wanted to take another official visit and they told me if I did then they wouldn't guarantee me my scholarship," Pete Richardson explaining why he decommitted from the Aggies. "So, that kind of made me mad. I went ahead and took that official visit to Texas Tech this weekend and I'm glad I did because that's where I'm going to go. And I liked it better."

Chris Parker was Richardson's host this weekend and he said the two hit-it-off, great.

"We're like the same type of people and I had a lot of fun hanging out with him and the team," Richardson said.

Asked when he decided to give Tech his verbal, Richardson said, "Coach Mike Leach asked me if I was ready to do it Saturday night and I asked him to give me until Sunday. Today, I was like Texas Tech is it. This is me right here. And so I committed."

Richardson's message to Red Raider fans: "I'm excited to be a Red Raider and I can't wait to get down there."
