Marlon Winn Makes Decision

Marlon Winn of Waxahachie, Texas gave us the scoop Sunday night that the race for his final decision to either stick with Oklahoma State or opt for Texas Tech, was in fact 50-50. He could have gone either way. On Monday night, Winn called Scout.com to fill us in on where he decided to ultimately go...

"I decided to commit to Oklahoma State," Marlon Winn told Scout.com Monday night. "I picked Oklahoma State because of the offense they're running, because of the offensive line coach Coach Wick, and because of head coach Mike Gundy."

Playing time was also something that he carefully weighed and he felt that the Cowboys offered a better shot at that than the Red Raiders might have...

"I wanted to go somewhere I could play early," Winn continued. "Oklahoma State needs tackles and I think getting playing time is all about getting the reps. I'll get the reps at Oklahoma State."

Another factor in his decision to stick with his pledge to go to Stillwater could be found in the update prior to this one...

"I've been talking to Coach Wick and he said that in their offense that they do a lot of pullin' with their tackles. They do a lot of tackle trap. That's something I'd like to do in college and think I can do that type of stuff pretty well."

The 6-6, 280-pound OT, who is still being evaluated for our Scout.com Texas Hot 100 Signing Day rankings, is a shoe-in. But where he'll land in the final rankings is still being determined...
