Rashad Hunt Talks Red Raider Commitment

Rashad Hunt of Lufkin, Texas ended the suspense when he gave Texas Tech a commitment over Iowa State. He will join fellow Lufkin teammate (and Red Raider commit) McKinner Dixon. We caught up with the 6-3, 250-pound DE/DT prospect to get his thoughts on the commitment to the Red Raiders...

"It's been horrible trying to pick between Iowa State and Texas Tech," Rashad Hunt told Scout.com. "But I picked Texas Tech."

"I really like the team and the guys, Coach Mike Leach, he's just a down-to-earth guy, same as the people there, and so I just went ahead and committed."

The 6-3, 250-pound DE/DT prospect said he phoned in his verbal commitment to Ruffin McNeill.

"I told him I was ready to become a Red Raider," Hunt informed, "And, he was real happy about it."

Hunt said that the Texas Tech coaches told him he'd probably start out at DE and play there for a couple of years and then move to full-time DT for the last two.

The Lufkin DL's verbal commitment bolsters the defensive line depth, plenty of members of the Red Raider nation really excited...
