***********OT ANDREW CARNAHAN (6-8, 285, 5.1) ************

Carnahan's sophomore year, Hereford went 13-2 and lost in the Class 4A Division I state finals. He only started three football games during his junior season.

During his senior campaign, Carnahan was a Class 5A-4A All-South Plains choice by The Avalanche-Journal, logging 35 pancake blocks and a 96-percent blocking grade for Hereford, which finished 8-3 this season.

He scored 23 on the ACT and 1,120 on the SAT. He carries a 4.0 grade-point average on a weighted scale.

Thayer's Take: "Andrew provides excellent pass-blocking and pulls off the ball well. He's very mobile for his size and finishes his blocks with authority. He played in a pass-oriented scheme in high school, which should ease his transition to Tech's wide-open aerial attack."

*****************FEBRUARY 5 UPDATE********************

TS: What's your current commitment status?

AC: "I committed to Tech awhile back (January), but I've never been 100 percent about it."

TS: Do you still favor Tech?

AC: "For right now, yes, I favor the Red Raiders. I'm probably 60/40 for Tech."

TS: What impressed you about Tech and Mike Leach?

AC: "One of the main things about Tech is that I like the people down there. I get along and fit in real well."

TS: It's rumored that Arizona State is making a late push for your services. Is that true?

AC: "Yeah, they've really turned it on late. The Arizona State coaches really like the way I pull, because it's a big part of their offense."

TS: When will you make your final decision?

AC: "My decision will probably be last minute on signing day (Wednesday, February 6)."

TS: What factors will influence your final decision?

AC: "I don't know."

TS: What other schools did you consider?

AC: "Oklahoma State and Wyoming."

TS: Thanks for your time tonight and good luck on Wednesday.

AC: "Alright, thanks."
