After speaking with Point Loma HS coach Hastings, I found out that Josh had added two more offers this week upping his total offer count to six. "You can add Washington State and San Diego State to that list." said Coach Hastings. Those two offers add to his current offers from Nebraska, Colorado, and Texas Tech out of the Big 12 and Utah out of the Mountain West. LSU has also been expressing heavy interest, but no formal offer has been extended.
When asked about his plans to camp anywhere this summer, Coach Hastings informed us that Josh had already attended the Nike Combine. Coach Hastings told us "I heard he did really good." Josh recorded a 5.1 forty and a 4.8 Pro Shuttle.
Josh has a very good explosiveness off the line. At the Nike Combine, according to Coach Hastings, Josh won his one-on-one drills 5 out of 6 times. Josh's quickness off the line was described as "cat-like" by Coach Hastings who continued by saying that Josh often beats the offensive line men out of their stances and has a large presence in the backfield, often taking the ball out of the running backs hands. "That's definitely his strong point, his quickness off the line. He's always in the backfield." said Coach Hastings.
Currently, Josh has no visits or camps set up. Coach Hastings informed me that the six schools that have offered so far will more than likely be the front runners for his visits and that he would like to attend several one-day elite camps. Coach Hastings also expressed "He'd like to maybe get down to some of the southeastern schools, like Florida State."
Right now, Coach Hastings said that Josh's top three are Nebraska, Colorado, and Texas Tech.
On May 14, Josh will be attending the Army All-American Combine and RaiderPower.com will have those results for you.
