Blake Collier has Tech out in front

With all of Texas Tech's starting linebackers being upperclassmen this season, the Red Raiders need to restock the cupboard with their upcoming recruiting class. The Tech coaching staff is recruiting players to do just that, and Blake Collier is at the top of their list.

The 2005 recruiting class already has two great linebacker commits in Brandon Crow and Marlon Williams. The coaching staff would like to add a few more, including high school standout Blake Collier.

Collier has seen his recruitment start to heat up after he turned in some impressive numbers at camps and at the Scout.com combine. Blake is 6'2 and weighs 205 pounds, but the most impressive thing about him is that he runs a legit 4.5 forty. With speed like that, you can expect the offers to start rolling in once teams get a chance to see him up close.

The Justin, TX prospect is currently holding offers from Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas, and SMU. Although Collier has yet to really narrow down his list, he has some preferences based on what he has seen so far. "Right now I like Texas Tech, Baylor, OU, and Texas A&M. I would have to say that Tech is out in front of everybody, but my decision is still wide open at this point."

The recruitment of this Texas top-50 prospect will probably not be a quick one, so we will continue to keep you informed of Blake's status.
