Curtis Bailey is a hot commodity

If you ask Coach Leach which position is the most important on the offensive side of the ball, he will tell you that it all starts with the offensive line. To make sure Tech remains strong up front, the staff is recruiting some of the top prospects in the state, including Dallas Carter's Curtis Bailey.

Last season, Tech's offensive line was probably the best it has been during Coach Leach's tenure at Tech. Senior linemen Dylan Gandy and Daniel Loper were drafted to the NFL, and senior offensive lineman Cody Campbell was picked up later by the Indianapolis Colts. Because of this significant loss of experience, the staff signed five offensive linemen last February and hope to sign about four more this year.

Texas Tech has yet to receive a commit from an OL prospect this year, but the recruiting staff is concentrating on Curtis Bailey. As one of the top offensive linemen in the Lonestar State, Bailey has a laundry list of schools interested in him. Although he is getting attention from all over the country, there are some schools that have already started to stand out to the 6'6, 360-pound prospect. "I like USC, Texas, Notre Dame, Florida, Nebraska, Texas Tech, OU and A&M," said Bailey.

Curtis also explained that he is very interested in the academic side of each school and would like to attend law school if he is not able to pursue football after he graduates.
