Richard Jones Opens Up His Recruitment Texas Top 100 prospect Richard Jones, an early commitment to Missouri, has decided to take a step back and open himself back up. He wants to make sure his college decision is a sound one. The Tigers remain in the hunt, but a couple of other Big 12 programs are in the hunt as well. He talks about all of that with in the report below…

"Right now, I just want to think everything through and make sure I make a good decision," Richard Jones explaining that he wants to open himself back up said. "My parents thought I should commit to Missouri because they were the only school calling me at the time, and so I did. So, I would like to open up the recruiting process again."


So, who has officially offered the 6-0.5, 270-pound DT from La Marque?

"I have official offers from Colorado State, Missouri, Texas Tech, Rice and U of H," Jones told "Right now, Texas Tech is No. 1 and Missouri is No. 2."

Commitment-time frame: "I would like to take my time so that I can make a solid decision. I want to take some visits first. And then, make my decision."

The athletic interior line prospect said he would like to give "Texas Tech, Missouri and Colorado" official visits and prefers to do those during the season, if at all possible. The Buff have yet to offer but Jones thinks they are on the brink.

As for the Tigers, the Greater Houston Area defender said they still have a chance.

And the Red Raiders?

"They're my top school, they always have been and it's closer to home. And, I have family in Lubbock, so they're No. 1."

JR Season Stats: "80 tackles, 20 TFL, 5 sacks, 2 FFs, 1 TP (and one blocked FG)."

Weight Room-Numbers: 350 Bench, 540 Squat, 335 Power Clean.

Academics: 2.9/3.0 GPA, 1100 SAT.
