Garland C/G Prospect Picks Texas Tech

Garland C/G prospect Buddy Brumit called to update us on his commitment status, choosing to end the suspense in favor of the Texas Tech.

The Texas Top 100 prospect said he gave Texas Tech a soft verbal just as he hinted he would do when we last spoke yesterday, so he hasn't quite ended the suspense entirely.

With the Arizona coaching staff pursuing him from start to finish the possible spring enrollee feels he not only owes it to himself but to the Wildcat coaches to give them a closer look. After that trip is in the books, the 6-2.5, 287-pounder will either switch his pledge or call himself solid to the Red Raiders.

"I called Coach Bill Bedenbaugh and Coach Sonny Dykes to let them know that I wanted to give them a soft verbal," said Brumit who wants to major in pre-med. "I will take an unofficial visit to Arizona sometime at the end of July and they will get a shot. But Tech is in the lead."
