The third-year coaching staff will lead Tech through 13 spring practices prior to the annual Red-Black Game on Sat., April 13, at Jones SBC Stadium.

Kickoff for the spring game is set for 2 p.m. The final practice date is set for Monday, April 15.

NCAA rules allow 15 spring practices sessions over the course of 29-consecutive calendar days. Of those 15 days, only 12 may be used for contact and only three may be devoted to 11-on-11 scrimmaging for more than 50-percent of the practice. Tackling is prohibited in four of the 12 contact sessions.

A noticeable change in the spring drills will be the venue for practice. Due to construction and landscaping on the current practice fields, the Raiders will workout on the soccer practice field at the intersection of Flint and Main on the Tech campus.

Weather permitting, Tech will practice on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday of the weeks involving spring drills.

Saturdays will be set aside as scrimmage days. Tech also will practice Friday at 3:15 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. Times for the remaining practice sessions will be announced later this week.

Tech will kickoff the 2002 season in the annual Pigskin Classic against Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, Sat., Aug. 24. The game will be televised nationally on ABC at 2:30 p.m.
