Clayborn Considering His Options

Adrian Clayborn, a four-star standout from Missouri, has garnered offers from many prestigious football programs around the country and has shown interest in playing for the Red Raiders.

Adrian Clayborn, who is projected to be one of the top 2006 prospects from Missouri, states, "Right now my top 4 are Missouri, Illinois, Texas Tech, and Nebraska." Before making his decision, the 6'3, 245 lb. tight end/defensive end wants to visit each school to determine which program is the best fit for him. "I want to go somewhere that has a good weight program. I want to have them push me to be the best player I can be both physically and mentally." Academics will also play an important role in Adrian's decision.

Although none of the schools is a clear leader at this point, Clayborn reports that being recruited by Texas Tech is a positive experience. "[Texas Tech coach] Seth Littrell is a really cool guy. He is very straightforward with me, and I like that."

So far, Adrian has made an official visit to Illinois and camped at Missouri. Concerning Illinois, he states, "I actually was in Champaign last Saturday (July 23rd) on a visit. I really liked the coaches there." Missouri's advantages include familiarity with the coaching staff and being close to home. Clayborn is also interested in Nebraska because "The coaches there seem like really good guys. They are a well respected program."

We will be keeping in contact with Adrian to keep up with how his recruitment is coming along.
