This talented wide receiver is James Battle's primary target. Battle, a highly-touted quarterback, defensive end Jarvis Moss and Jones are cousins. All three players play for Denton Ryan and are still "very interested" in Tech. The trio has also repeatedly expressed interest in attending the same college.

As a junior, Jones caught 50 passes for 1,053 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, which helped propel Denton Ryan to the Class 4A Division I state championship.

Thayer's Take: "Philip is one of the top big-play wide receivers in Texas. He's got great speed and tremendous instincts. His ability to run after the catch and outrun defenders would be an excellent fit for Tech's offensive attack."
