"I'm 100% Committed to Texas Tech"

RaiderPower.com caught up with DT Dantay Ward, Texas Tech's newest commit, to discuss his recent visit to the Hub

DanTay Ward committed to the Baylor Bears very early on in the recruiting process. He thought he had his mind made up, but all of that changed when he came to Lubbock and watched the Red Raiders pull out a last second victory over the Oklahoma Sooners.

"I had a great time in Lubbock. The game was awesome" DanTay said. "When Tech was down to their last play and needed to score, I knew who was going to get the ball and I knew Taurean was going to score."

DanTay is such a phenomenal player, there will be a lot of schools still after him even though he is committed to Tech, but Ward knows where he wants to be. "I'm 100% committed to Texas Tech. I'm not going to take anymore visits. Texas Tech is where I want to be."

The 6'2 296 pounds defensive tackle is exactly what Texas Tech needed. The Red Raiders needed to pick up some really good high school DT's this year, and now they have two 3-stars committed, DanTay Ward and Richard Jones.

We asked Ward if he had anything he wanted to say to all the Red Raider fans out there who were very excited to have him aboard, and he replied "Tell them all that I will come ready to play and good luck in the Cotton Bowl."
